Produced by the Gabb Family (owners of Journey's End Winery and Mount Rozier) in the Western Cape, this Chenin Blanc blend has been grown and treated as if it were made in the Loire Valley in France. To the eye, it is clean and clear, like a soft, lemon yellow; this softness translates on the nose, under-stated and elegant, with neutral flowers and peach fuzz. After a little while longer, we can coax out some lemon and under-ripe green melon. A fantastic mouth-puckering acidity, creating a fresh and zippy wine! Transitioning from tart green apples at the tip of the tongue, becoming fleshier as it travels back across the palate. There are more tropical fruits and green melon, finishing that has a touch of sweetness. Rich, with a light medium-bodied, this wine has enough acidity to handle a salad, but some body and weight to partner with a lean protein. Try a grilled chicken salad!
